I traded a 17" A Custom med. on saturday for a 16" Bosphorus New Orleans crash . I did the right thing .

My first one, and it won't be the last .

Just a lovely instrument, soft ,loud and all points in between .

Yeah, you definitely came out on top there, IMHO. The New Orleans Series is one of my favorites -- not just among Bosphorus stuff, but every brand. Just awesome cymbals all around. Congrats!

I have a ton of gear - 11 sets or so and about 30 cymbals.  When I record, I have to really stretch to rationalize using something besides my Blaemire drums and the 2 Bosphorus cymbals I own.

I'm not keen on "signature" models (I actually got cold feet on a crash once because it said "Dave Weckyl" on it), but these happen to be the Stanton Moore 20" Wide Ride and an 18" Smash Crash.  They are older, Pre-split and I love them primarily because the have huge chord blooms with absolutely no dissonance.  They are "tuned" like no other cymbals I've had.

Floyd, if you have any Bos you'd like to part with...give me a PM.

Thx.

I'm afraid the two I have are keepers.

I rolled the dice on some 13" Bosphorus Turk hats on ebay. 800 and 900 g maybe? Beautiful slosh at the edge, papery trashy chick if you dial it in. Closed stick sound thuddy and muted.

I wonder how many people are playing Crescent cymbals, the brand Stanton Moore and Jeff Hamilton started when they left Bosphorus.

I have mine and intend to keep them. However, I have a little too much overlap among my 3 Bos rides so one has to go.

What 3 do you have? I just picked up a 22" Bosphorus Jazz Master. Beautiful cymbal, but I'm in a similar boat. It's a little close to one I already own. I'm debating which one to keep now.

I have two 22" original rides (traditional & turk) and a 19" antique thin ride. Thinking of letting the 19 go.
