I've got a players grade 12-point floral pattern Ludwig DeLuxe that I need some advice on.  A previous owner replaced a missing mounting screw for the P338 with a larger screw (WTF?!?!?).  I have no idea what they used to enlarge the factory hole...looks like they used a friggin' hole punch!

The shell has a slight dent around the hole and the hole itself has some internal flanging of the brass around the hole.  I'm not the handiest guy on planet and I doubt I have the right tools to safely push the dent out.  I thought about taking it to an auto body shop to see what they think. Before I go that route, any advice from you DIY-ers?  I'd like to remove the slight dent and if possible push the flanged edges back in (not sure if that is possible).

Thanks for weighing in.

Try a nut and a bolt and 2 over sized washers. Put one washer on each side and tighten. It might mash out the dent.
