I've noticed most drummers have to learn the hard way... playing in the studio can be extremely different to your usual rehearsal / gig playing.

There's a lack of guidance/resources out there on how to prepare for your first recording experiences. Making an album (or even just a few songs) can be a LOT of work (and expensive!), so it's really important to make the most of your studio time, no matter whether it's in a professional-level studio, or a DIY home setup.

Besides just "know the songs!", there are a lot of other things you can do to make sure you're well prepared.

So with that in mind, here's an article with some essential tips on what to do both before your recording session and at the studio, to nail it!

If anyone has any other tips or questions about the studio, fire away!
