1960's ludwigs that had been painted black........but look what is underneath! Perfectly preserved champagne sparkle! That's a 14" floor tom too.

or put the clip mounts on those toms....but still...nice find...how'd you remove the paint w/o damaging the wrap?

the 16'' floor tom on this set was painted black when i bought it .... i removed the paint , it's a little dull now , but it sounds good .... nice drum set , once you get the paint off ....

The 12" came out nice! That bass drum is going to be a nightmare

For those that asked, automotive lacquer thinner does the trick (I use DuPont).  No damage left behind.  Just be sure to cover all holes so it doesn't run inside.  And...ventilation!

Wrap looks pretty vivid on that 12. The paint probably saved them from some fading. Nice work!

Got the paint off the 14" and buffed out the 12". Going to be a nice set!!

Just curious if you are going to try and remove the interior paint. Could be time consuming and messy. Exteriors are looking good though.
