Recently bought this nice set for my daughter's birthday.  She plays regular Yamaha set, but now moving to townhouse.  But there will be times when we can hook this up to full range and subwoofers via a stereo amp

What is recommended?  (Yamaha BTW and not surprisingly suggests only buying lots of their purpose built speakers to do this.  But in the past I have hooked up a lesser quality set into a stereo [first through a phono preamp for the cheap earlier kit]).

Helpful fellow in another forum says just jack the output of the DTX 502 straight to any input of the stereo and attach a good set of full range speakers.  That sounds fine.

I am just wondering if I need a preamp again?  I am also thinking of putting the signal through a modest Behringer mixer first.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Helpful fellow here.

No, you do not need a preamp.

Yes, you can stuff it via a Behringer (that'll give you a bit of extra input gain and EQ if you need it)

I would just get a good powered speaker, like a DXR12. Connect the MONO/L output to the speaker and you're good to go.
