Greetings all. Here's a chance to try out one of the newer brands on the market. I purchased this last month on a whim - it has less than 3 hours playing time on it. Unfortunately I need to sell because I have had some unexpected expenses come up. I’ll be honest, I had my doubts about these before I played one but once you’ve played an A&F it can’t be denied. It is an great brass snare. I like it better than the Black Beauties that I have owned in the past. It has the perfect amount of fatness and crack plus the right kind of rings. Get a like new A&F for much less than listing price. SOLD

Let me know if you have any questions!

Rob

I know the construction is totally different, but that sounds a lot like one of the sounds I get from my 20s Ludwig 2-piece heavy brass.  I'm more and more intrigued by these A&F instruments...

Yeah - I've never played a 20s 2-piece but this vid shows a cool comparison between A&F and some Black Beauties:

Nice. job with that comparison!..Hard to pick a winner between them but I don't think we are supposed to. I,d be honored to own any one of them...They sound powerful.

All three sound great, but the A&F seems a bit dryer.

If you're willing to trade on a Dunnett Ti please let me know.

8 or 10 lugs?

This is a 10 lugger. There is a 8 lug steel version on Reverb right now, which to my ears at the shop was much warmer...

I have decided to hold onto this for a bit after a very successful weekend at the studio w/ it.

I don't blame you. It's a very sweet sounding snare.

Looking for snares but not sure what at the moment. In need of a good wood snare with plenty of crack, warm, dry.

Would you have any interest in my Canopus Rosewood Block drum?

Don't have many wood snares unless you are talking vintage.  DW 5x14 natural maple early 90's?  Ludwig 6.5x14 Bronze Supra?  Slingerland 5.5x14 mahogany from 1959?

Okay I’ll narrow down the trade rumors a bit. Looking for a Sonor Modern Vintage Snare, Canopus The Maple Snare, or Agop Sig Medium Ride
