I planed one of these slabs . Level on both sides and still over 2” thick

I’d rip it down the middle take out the split then put it back together

I have friend who does custom moldings. He let me use his planer for this project.

How much do big oak slabs like that cost ? when I redo my kitchen I would love to have that for countertops

Retail they are very expensive. I got these from a guy who is starting a lumber yard....he stored these wrong and they cupped and checked horribly. I already have a ton of hours in these....just getting them flat. I got them very cheap for that reason.
