Ludwig should pick them up, the attack heads are similar in design

Been about a decade since I tried Attack heads.  I remember the hoops being steel and fairly heavy, adding mass to drums.

Attack Terry Bozzio signature coated batters have been a staple product on my drums for many years, I hope someone keeps them on the market.

Hope not !         I've owned a couple different models' of theirs and they were great heads.

I don't like them. I have a Bozzio head that seems really cheap and thin.

It's true. Universal Percussion, the owner of and distributor for Attack heads is closing. There is a possible buyer, but nothing definite.

I picked up a Bozzio 2 ply-bass drum head (with tone ring) when MARS was having a going out of business sale. Sounded great on a Stage Custom kick. I hate seeing the viability of these business that are under the UP/Cannon umbrella in jeopardy.

Why? We want them to be good.

You have a Bozzio head?
I've ordered Bozzio coated snare & tom batters in bulk packs since around 1998, I've played countless hours on them.
I find them to be great-sounding, great feeling & ultra durable drumheads. among the best in the industry in fact.

The heads come from China so whomever is making them probably will continue to do so but will need a new distributor. I'm assuming the "Attack" brand name belongs to Universal but could be purchased along with the rights to distribute the heads.

I've always thought they were a pretty close copy of Ludwig's head design and kind of thought they might fill the bill as replacements now that Ludwig has stopped making their own. The price is certainly right on them.

Maybe Bozzio should take over...he could become the new Roy Burns.

I wonder if the "Spizz" cymbal debacle of a few months ago contributed to Universal's problems?

I was joking.

Ludwig only makes snare side and coated medium and heavy in 14 and perhaps 13" sizes now. I love Ludwig heads.

Ludwig stopped making heads 2 years ago....I'll have to keep an eye out for a "new" (Chinese) head manufacturer to hit the market sometime in the near future.
