Yeah... he was kinda dumb at times.

Someone once asked Gene if he could play "matched grip."

He said?  "Sure!  That's easy!"

Great clip.  That woman was born to sing that song.  No one did it as well as her

16" and.....20" floor tom?

if your signature song is ''sing, sing, sing'', you better pack a 20'' floor tom!

the match gag is great and is from a movie with gary cooper.

I remember that show.  My dad did not like Krupa because of the drug issue.  He was not happy mom wouldn't let us change the channel as he directed (back when my brother, and I, were the remote).

Regards, Rudy

Loved Gene's trio and quartet work towards the end of his life.  Always taking chances and going where the music was headed.  Sure, he had to play the hits and got together for those "Big Band" reunions, but his trio work was always really cool.  Well done.

I remember back in the day hearing those radio ads for Yonkers Raceway.  I used to live in Rockland county...

Dig!! This, even though intended to be the height of commerciality, is downright artistic, from the stage set, musician placement, Gene's decidedly nontraditional set-up, and the arrangement. As someone commented Ms. Page sounds born to sing that song. Peggy Lee is a fine singer, but Patti sounds, oddly, dry yet rich. I detect a southern accent, but I could be wrong. I prefer it to Peggy's.

With all my talk of art, I'll bet she made way more money from "How Much is..."

Clara Ann Fowler (Ms. Page) was born in Oklahoma. Some people will consider that to be in the South.

Very cool, and Patti Page has great stage presence, and damned sexy.

Is it my ears, my eyes, or maybe my crappy laptop speakers, or is the bigger floor tom tuned higher than the smaller one?

Speaking of Gene's Trio days....   Hearing this online motivated me to locate the CD.
