I've seen so many nice drums from all of you out there, I decided I was going to create my definitive TOP TEN list of drum sets I would enjoy owning. That means I will include ones that I DO own that I can't see letting go of, and ones I've had before that I wish I still did, and ones that I'd like to own in the future. Mine are in no particular order.

• Slingerland Nashville Studio Kings (currently own)
• Slingerland Niles 3ply with clear or tan interior (current project)
• Premier Signia maple (used to have)
• Premier Genista birch (used to have)
• Rogers Tower Delta - Cleveland era (used to have)
• Ludwig Legacy (not yet, but I will one day)
• Ludwig Epic X-Over Striped
• Ludwig 1970s 3ply with clear maple interior
• Gretsch Renown Maple
• Tama Starclassic Performer birch/bubinga

So, if you could own ten and only ten sets, what would your top ten be?

Well some people do have that problem around here. I only have one playable kit at the moment, but that's down from three a couple of weeks ago...

I was just thinking what it would be like to have 10 kits .... I also had 3 at one time, but down to one now.

Oi, I already own two of my "top ten" kits. I don't know if I need that many... I'd be happy(real happy) with a new DW 13/16/18/24, traditional sizes, in "Lava Oyster" finish. So here's my top 3 - sorry, I'm breakin' rules here:

- Ludwig 14/16/18/26, 3-ply clear interior
- Ludwig KB Champagne 13/16/22
- DW Lava Oyster 13/16/18/24

My current Fullerton Rogers are doing a pretty good job until I can swing the DW's. I'm really pretty content as-is

seeing floyd's post made me think of how awesome it would be to have some sonor teardrops... and now that i think about it, some conical trixons.... blaemires sound like a good idea too... it's never-ending with me.... i could list 10 more if you want! haha

for starters i would want my first set back, a slingerland kit.
an original keystone/clear interior 12,13,14,16 double
bass kit.
a keystone citrus mod in 18,12,14 w/matching snare.
a new legacy clubdate kit.
the new stainless ludwigs with gold hardware.
vertical striped vista kit(blue/white)
a neil peart tama (the weapon) kit, complete w/chimes and all of the giblets.
my bec legacy kit.
a ringo kit w/all of the right details
a really nice vintage premier kit.

this is a put together kit from sought after drums.. £450.00.. the 12" is mounted on a snare stand.. the floor tom legs are outfitted with pearl suspension feet..

1 and 2. 70's Gretsch and 60's Ludwig, since they give a kind of sonic framework with their different sounds/natures etc. (OWN: GRETSCH 24/12/13/18; LUDWIG 13,16,20)

Only ten? No room for a nice set of Premiers with one of their rich pearl wraps or a Meazzi Hollywood Crystalines, another 1/2 dozen Ludwig kits, or even the other drums I have on hand....oh well, back to dreaming.

When my feet are held to the fire, I don't find any bop dimension kits on my wishlist. I could also be very happy many contemporary kits from all over the world. But this is the toppermost.

I already own my top ten, starting with my DW BR kit, two vintage Slingerland kits and two custom made kits. Those are everything I could possibly want, leaving noting to lust after. Lucky me.

Notice the absence of a certain brand of drums that I graciously leave to everyone who likes them. The one Gretsch set is in the list because it was my first real drum set. Also notice that I have a love for the mid 50's--mid 60's period drums. This is what I consider to be the golden age of drums.

Same here. The G word does not excite me in the least. I do have a Catalina Club Jazz kit, but I don't consider them worth of any top ten list (although they are pretty decent drums), nor do I consider them real Gretsch. Probably made in the same factory Ludwig, Tama, et al uses for their low end kits. Never got into the G sound. Never wll.
