I have never liked those center lug bass drums at ALL.  I was never able to get a decent tuning. There is too much stress on the long tension rods, the tension is way uneven and there arent enough of them.

I had a Rogers Tower bass drum that was no trouble to get sounding good. Also, aren't the new C&C Player Date kids center lug? Guys rave about how those sound, I haven't tried one.

NOT MINE - but I know the guy from dealing with him a few times before - Brent - interesting old guy but he's cool.  Near Santa Cruz, CA:

1)  Rogers Holiday Dayton kit in red sparkle on Craiglist Bay Area (near Santa Cruz).  Only the 12 rack and 20 bass - they look nice....$500.00.

2)  Also, a Ludwig New Yorker 12/16/12x22 bass in WMP......$900.00.  The 12/22 together are only $500.00.

Unfortunately for me I'm not a big fan of 20" bass drums, or else I would. The green looks awesome, but is a re-wrap. The red looks very nice and says it's original. I haven't seen either in person, but they have had some nice stuff in there before and seem like they know what they are doing.

Interesting Ludwig kit in the Tampa Bay area for sale.http://tampa.craigsl...5955221915.html

I'll say. My first reaction is this is fake. Then again, crazier things happen. I'd love to submit an offer but I'm skeptical. If this is indeed real...and these folks don't know what they have...They are going to be flooded with offers and will be pleasantly surprised by the sale price.

I find it funny they word this like they don't know what they have yet they say "cymbal set". My favorite part is "the black metal Ludwig drum a bit bigger than the matching one". I think that's where they lost me.

UPDATE:

I contacted the "seller" on these this morning. I asked if they had other photos and if they could be viewed Saturday and got this reply:

Sorry...we gave them to a nice local guy and his son this morning. Thanks

UPDATE 2:

I wrote the "seller" back and hinted that it seemed strange to "give away" a drum set worth what these are worth and here is the reply I received:

Yes, we decided the first person that was honest about them could have them. That was what my Mom wanted to do with them.

IF (and that's a big IF) this is true...Wow.

If you do a google search for that image, several matches are shown. In some of the matches, the description and knowledge of what they are is very clear.

Darn good looking Bronze Strata Ludwig standard with snare and hardware for $700 on DC craigslist. Says he's selling for a friend so not interested in trades, which is all I can do at the moment.
