so i have been thinking of adding another 20" kick to my Yamaha Stage Customs i bought a few months ago. I really love the look of a real double bass set.... I would love to add another bass to my Tama StarClassics but its very expensive and i cant find a matching bass to my set. I picked up a Tama Rockstar Double Bass kit (22" bass drums)last year while i was searching for my StarClassic set. I hadent owned a true double bass kit for 20+ years and when this one came up i couldent resist for $400.... I only owned the kit for about 2 weeks, i was selling another kit i had and the guy came to look at it saw this Tama kit and fell in love with it even tho it wasent forsale really i couldent pass up the offer for $600.... heck made a quick $200. and i knew when it came time to sell the kit most people dont want 2 basses.

so lets see some of your guys double bass sets.... i know there are some killer ones out there specially on this forum

sorry for the crappy pic's like i said i didnt even own it long enough to take decent pictures.

The last one I played on was when I thought I was Neil Peart back during my high school daze.  It was a double 24" Slingerland with tom sizes of 12, 14, 16, and 18.  The snare was a Supra.  Cymbals were all Zildjians, and the ride to the right of the picture was an Istanbul-made K signed under the bell.   Here it is:

Speaking of ergonomics, look at how this monster set is arrayed just like a bop set. Look at the 20/12/14 it's all built around. No reaching, no strain. Just a 4 banger with bits added to the sides. Far better ergo than typical double bass sets. The only thing that's moved much is the primary leftside crash, which is raised about 8" to allow space for the concert toms.

Even better, it's modular. Leave something home and the positioning of the rest doesn't change. A 4 pc. with options. Pretty sneaky eh?

During a Sonor restoration of a couple of sets, I set up the 2 sets into double bass configuration.  Sold the ones I didn't need, but the picture shows possibilities for a 20-22-12-13-13-16-16-snare setup.
