I started playing drums when I was 15 yrs. old. I stopped when I was 21 and started up again after I retired at 71. I'm having a ball playing in a big band with old retired farts like me. We play gigs at Senior centers all over Maryland. (music by Glen Miller, Benny Goodman etc.)
I just reacquired my original Slingerland drum kit that I brought brand new in 1956-57? It is a Gene Krupa Knotty Pine set which consists of a snare, 22" bass and a 13" tom. No floor tom (couldn't afford it when I was 15).
I'm looking forward to learning more about drums and drumming.
