started playing various empty coffee cans with new pencils in the 5th grade. during the 5th grade granny bought me a real "stewart" 5.5x14 blue sparkle snare drum with remo sound master heads. got my first real drum kit around 12 years old. it was a 3 piece "stewart" black diamond pearl kit. 14x20 , 8x12 , 5.5x14. added an apollo 14x14 shortly after. it went from there. my influinces around 1970 were Don Brewer , Jerry Edmonton , Ansley Dunbar , various drummers on pop songs played on am radio. i play straight foward rock n roll and am not a technical drummer. current kits are 3 identical tama superstar kits. 2 are piano black laquer and the 3rd is mostly black with a couple other colors mixed in. (2) 16x22 , 10x14 , 12x16 , 16x18 , 18x20. ludwig reissue 6.5x14 cob suphra 400. all tama titan hardware. the 16x18 and 18x20 toms are stand mounted. remo clear black dot heads on batter side of and evans resonant tom tom heads on bottom of all toms. remo clear black dot head on top and ambassador snare head on snares. remo clear black dots on bass drum batter and clear remo emperor on front. no muffling on any drum. paiste 2002 cymbals > 15 heavy hi hats only bottoms are used , (2) 18 power crash , (2) 20 ride used as crash , 22 ride , (2) 20 china with a 12 wuhan mounted together on top of each 20. pearl p120 pedals. pro mark 808 wood tip hickory sticks. 2 hands 2 feet and some chocolate milk ! mongo like candy !
