He is such a fluid and great player. I love watching him play. I know he's doing these to sell drums but still, just an informative video.

Here's one with the Yamaha RC kit.

He is a nice player. I like the drums. Those cymbals though- yuck. They sound awful to me. Maybe its just my ear or something

Nick is a great drummer, but also a great singer.

I agree Dan! I always enjoy Nicks videos and his playing is fantastic. I also agree with Tigerdrummer, those drums sound great but the cymbals sound like trash can lids.

Youre not alone. Yes, hes a salesman, but hes a drummer first, and I make a point of watching his reviews just because I enjoy watching him play and hearing him talk with passion about drums. Had a chance to meet him at a Sweetwater event, and he couldnt be a nicer guy.

Ridiculous talent and experience sitting right here in the midwest.

He is good and Sweetwater is an impressive place. I was just there and picked some things up and the staff was first class. Gave me a tour of the entire place.

They are my new go to as we dont have a local drum shop anymore. And I HATE gc

Agreed. I like his playing and his enthusiasm, but he never says a single bad thing about any product. Never a negative review, never a hint that another product could be better than the product he is reviewing. Always glowing. Therefore, it's not an objective review, IMO. Just an advertisement.

I do like the sound of the cymbals in the video, but I've heard them in person and they just don't do it for me.

Nick is great. Saw him play with Fates Warning back in the 00's. He does a fantastic job at Sweetwater with the demos.

Those RC's sound GREAT to me. Those cymbals, no way. I would take Sabian B8's over the Byzance Dry/Extra Dry/Dual Dry Etc....

I get it. Hes gotta sell stuff. If youre looking to buy a new set, or snare, cymbals. Whatever. I think its good to have a very competent sales person or drummer to talk to who can ask you questions about your playing, your tuning, and what youre looking for. Im happy to say I have that with where I shop. But they know me, know my gigs , know what I like.

Granted, this can really take a while both to understand your own playing and to develop a relationship. But it hopefully would pay off.
