Went to a local flea market this morning. Beautiful morning to browse the booths, listening to the new Beck on headphones. Very relaxed and fun. Stop at one guys table, selling old coins and money and collectibles, in big glass display cases with the lids open so the sun doesn't get them all fogged up. The owner is busy with a customer at other end. Guy next to me puts his arm over the display case, reaches down and grabs a couple small stacks of small bills and calmly puts it in his pocket and walks away. At this time I don't know if he owns or is working this table, so get the guys attention who is talking with customer, asking if he has anybody else working with him and if not , that guy walking away just stole it. He did not know him and yes money was taken. His daughter was in car not paying attention, she then got out and watched the booth as he and I went to get him. He went up next aisle , vendor starts yelling at him, he ducks down trying to hide, which works for a moment, see him again , vendor confronts him, pushing him back, guy denies it, I go to where he was hiding to find the money under another vendors item. I get the money, vendor is proclaiming "THEIF!!, THEIF!!" as he walks away to parking lot. Police are called, flea market security now is there and follows him. I gave the vendor his money, my name and number for any witness testimony, he is pretty upset, says thank you and I leave and continue my stroll through market feeling good to have helped. 2 aisles away I see this sitting on a table. 1950s Slingerland Gene Krupa snare, 7x14, clamshell throw. $50. Quite the morning.
