I know its been discussed but i got to give Pearl credit.
Ive owned a few Pearl snares from Sensitones when they first came out to Dennis Chambers snares, all performed great and with consistency.
I got a Modern Utility when they were introduced several months back for a jam i was hosting.
Folks,i played that snare this weekend at two gigs and did it deliver!
The thin maple shell and 1.3 m hoops, the sound was very much like a 3 ply snare, cracked when needed, articulate and punchy, responsive and throaty!
Meat and potatos type drum like a Sensi.
    Great bang for the buck!
    Keep it up,Pearl!

One of my all time favorite snare drums is a Pearl Smitty copper 4x14. I kick myself every morning for unloading that one.

Yeah,Dan,ive played one and loved it as well.
The Chambers snare was very cool eventhough I just wound up using just one setting on the 3 position throw.
    Sounded incredible!

My 6.5 aluminum sensitone is one of my favorite snares ever. The entire line is great

I'm a huge fan of Pearl! My current favorite snare is my late '70s 6.514" COB Jupiter with the parallel strainer. It's a heavy beast, but I love it!

Pretty much every Pearl drum I've owned has been very good build quality. 6.5" brass free floater was my first quality drum, that I received as a high graduation gift. It was my main drum for years and I shall carry it to the grave!

+1 for the 6.5" Aluminum Sensitone.
Great snare drum, and lightweight too.
I sometimes prefer it over my higher end Tama and DW snares.

I picked up a Steve Ferrone signature snare a couple of months ago, It's my 1st brass snare and I really like it. It's "drier" than my Gretsch hammered steel.
The Masters Maple and Session Studio lines both look like fantastic values.

Shuffle! Sorry to hear you are going to step away from playing (for a while). I'm still playing the maple keller set I bought from you!

Never been a huge fan of Pearl but...
I flipped a brass 5x14 Sensitone that was great (but just like a slingy i have).

I had a Q-popper for a while. That was a neat little snare. It would have been great with a cocktail drum.
