    Alex Lifeson new single.

I'm cool with the fact it doesn't sound like Rush. It just doesn't have any feel to it. Very mechanical on my first impression.

What drummer had the most affect on their bands sound / identity??

Here is another one that nobody ever discusses. Jon Fishman.

What drummer had the most affect on their bands sound / identity??

Matt is another guy with just a unique sound. He was a huge part of the Soundgarden sound. He still sounds good with PJ but his feel was made for the heavier Soundgarden sound IMO.

What drummer had the most affect on their bands sound / identity??

Here is one I will throw out and not in a good way. Jack Irons. I hated Pearl Jam with him in the band. Matt Cameron brought them back to relevance with me but I still like Dave Abbruzzese the best.

What drummer had the most affect on their bands sound / identity??

I'll just go ahead and say it. Ringo.

I have a mate who swears he's seen a drummer play four on the bass, five on the snare, six on the hi hat and seven on the ride. Is this even possible?

I've seen Virgil Donati play a 4 grouping (paradiddle) on 1 side of his body and a 5 grouping on the other side of his body creating a cool polyrhythm.

Like at the same time? In the same meter? All in the space of a half note? Just trying to figure out what actual feasible application exists for why you would need to do that. There are meaningful polyrhythms and then there is just noise.

    RIP Bob Saget

He'd apparently spoken about having covid recently but no clue if there is any possible connection. All accounts so far seem to make it sound like a heart issue is most likely.

Lost Neil two years ago today.

Not to sidetrack the conversation but I just find it interesting since it appears the songwriting credit only belongs to Geddy, Alex and Neil. Not sure how or why copyright ownership would be different. It is available for custom arrangement requests from Tresona like all other Rush songs. Just...

If you watch the video, it is silent during the Losing It portion of the video with a note that the music was removed due to a copyright claim. You can only hear the drum set playing during that part.

The one things that bugs me about the Drumeo video is that they re all Rush songs yet they had to remove Losing It because if a copyright claim. Why that song and who would have reported it? The only thing different about it would be Ben Mink's violin playing and songwriting credit.

If You Were Going to Buy a New Drum Set, What Would it Be?

I dreamed and still dream of a set just like Stanton Moore. 12/14/16/20 Gretsch Brooklyn in Creme Oyster. I was going to save up and order one prior to Covid hitting but I got an amazing deal on a "used" Ludwig Classic Maple in the exact same configuration that I just couldn't pass up.

For the Noble & Cooley fans

Interesting. I wonder what it sounds like. I've never heard of a drum made with that wood before.

For the Noble & Cooley fans

He is a N&C artist. I'm sure that close relationship led to these special drums. I know they have done a video in the past where they toured the N&C factory showing how their drums are made and some of the history of the company.

To add to the excitement in this. In the comments they say it’s a wood they’ve never used before. I’m not sure when they’ll go the reveal but I may need to stop in and see one.
