    Flabbergasted

Yeah they do, all the time. The Stratosphere and Gibsondependable make their business parting out guitars for parts on eBay and Gibsondependable deals almost exclusively in vintage guitars. There are probably more people parting out vintage guitars now more than ever since prices are so stupid...

Kinda surprised at all the acro hate? I've had a keystone acro for a few years and have always really liked it?

    The Official Slingerland Drum Thread

i was just looking at individual drums and anyway, asking prices are not selling prices.

I know but I didn't want to look like I was hiding it or trying to pass it off as original like some folks do. I'm actually kinda proud of the work I have put in on old gear and will stand behind it rather than saying I didn't alter it at all. I guess I've just worked on so many old guitar amps...

I went for as much original parts as I could when rebuilding my RB's but I purposely went for a wrap that, not only did Gretsch never offer but that was never offered beyond just a few years ago. It looks like it would've fit in well in that timeframe but it just didn't exist then.

I believe it. Had to find badges for both toms when I resurrected my RB kit.

I hear ya, I'm all about resurrections and salvation of old gear and I do appreciate not covering battle scars but personally, I like to keep to the rest of the details as much as I can. Some of those details are what make each brand stand apart from each other and make each drum cool in it's...

    The Official Slingerland Drum Thread

Unfortunately (or fortunately) word is kinda out, at least among some of us. Slingerland prices do seem to be catching up to the others lately. I was browsing for orphan shells to piece together a vintage jellybean and the Slingerlands available weren't priced any lower than Rogers, Ludwig or...

That'll work for detail people like us. Hopefully, you won't get some self righteous internet police yelling about how it's a poor MIC clone trying to rip people off.

How Many Of You Play Bass?

If I was doing lower volume gigs like jazz or sets with an acoustic guitarist or even recording, I'd be all over a B-15 but it just couldn't handle the volume I needed and I did run a DI off my board to the PA for a little bit but I just ended up going back to the Bassman. I guess it helps that...

    The Official Slingerland Drum Thread

Sucks that Slingerland don't get the top respect from players these days the way companies like Ludwig and Gretsch do. I've owned 2 60's Slingerland kits that were every bit as good.

Why? That's one of the badges for the vent hole drums (and the snares did have the vent holes) while the badges for the drums that did not (pretty much just the toms) have a tiny pinhole in the middle for the tack. The snares typically have the badged vent hole and another grommeted hole with a...

Was Morello faster then Buddy Rich?

I met Louie later in his career and he was just a really nice, quiet and very gentle old guy who took a couple of minutes to talk with me while I was doing jazz band in HS. He had the softest handshake.

I Hate Virgin Bass Drums and the Resulting Need for Stand Mounted Toms

Yep, it is kinda a cesspool.
