    Love for b/o’s

I sold a 60s supra a few years back that I got for $60, shouldn’t have. I got a blue olive 400 for $75 sold that one too. I recently got the 400 pictured and will not be parting with it. Lessons learned. I know what you mean, even though most of my Luddies are Keystone

Potentially trading for a Ludwig Club Date. Have a few questions...

Just jumping in. Another thing to consider is, it really does boil down to the sound. If you truly dig the sound, you’re not going to be thinking about what’s not original or extra holes. Years ago, I traded one of my old K’s for a set of clubbies. Never regretted it; they sound so darn good.

Is the butt plate the same though? I do have the catalog but too lazy to dig it out

It’s probably a Ray McKinley. That’s like having a wooden supersensitive. Outstanding drum

Do you have a pic of the buttplate?

Here’s mine from 1963. Probably the best 6.5 wooden snare I own. All original except heads.

    Vintage market gone nutz!

Along with bloated prices there are a lot of weird ads like vintage American drums from Japan. I recently got a supra 400 for just under $400. I thought that was an OK deal but now they’re way higher.

    Vintage market gone nutz!

Maybe it’s me but, gee wiz, peeps are asking ridiculous money for snares – be it Ludwig, Rogers, slingerland

Let's See Your Solid 1 Ply Snare Drums! (Over 300 stunning snares on display!)

My ‘64 5.5” Artist BTW, I’ve heard that shells are classified as one ply = steam bent and solid = hollowed out. Even though, in my slingerland catalog it says “solid Maple shell.“

Ludwig tom arms don't stay put ...Fix?

No problem! A tap is really just a reverse threaded round gadget, female. It’s kind of like you’re going to screw it on to that shaft and it will re-make the threads.

    Latest acquisition— Luddy supra

My ‘66 acro actually resonates more than this supra. But they have different qualities.

Ludwig tom arms don't stay put ...Fix?

My issue was the width of the eyebolt, where it fits inside the mount. It looks like you have a stripped threads issue? I would buy a tap and re-tap the threads. It’s worth a try so you can at least keep that part original if that’s your goal.
