    Recommend a ride for me...

I need to spend some time on that site that has all the sound clips of cymbals for sale (can someone remind me that site?). I'm looking to get a new ride and thought i'd reach out here for some feedback! I currently play mostly americana to alt-rock. I play a four piece Gretsch renown maple...

    Question / Advice on Cases

Yep the bass drum is bar far the best part of the kit. Especially tuning a 14 x 14 floor tom is a challenge.

    Question / Advice on Cases

Hi all, I have a Gretsch Renown Maple kit that I gig with. 10, 12, 14, 22" I have had them in soft cases for a while now, and they are a pain to negotiate putting them in taking them out on stage. So i'm thinking about getting hard cases for them and looking for thoughts / advice. Are the...

    Recommendations for hardware case

Thanks for all the feedback. I picked up a hard golf bag case yesterday of CL for $60. Not as good a deal as some of you found, but not bad considering it looks like it goes for 150+ new. I'll give a try and see how it works out.

    Recommendations for hardware case

Well that Beato bag 36" is $154, and the SKB Mid sized case is 33" for $179, so not that much more... I just don't think that 36" let alone 33" is long enough. I'll have to measure the one I have. I think it would be closer to the 47" model of the Beato...

    Recommendations for hardware case

Hi all, Was wondering if I could get some recommendations on a hardware case. My local stores don't have much stock so I'm stuck looking at pics and descriptions on line. I currently have a soft hardware bag. My biggest complaint with it is when I pick it up to carry it up/down stairs the...

    Cymbal Advice

The crashes were cracked and needed to be replaced. Did you think the bell was too loud or just didn't like the tone? I'm not a huge fan of that ride- it is a 21" Zildjian A.

    Cymbal Advice

FYI I ended up buying a 16" AAX Stage Crash and an 18" AAX Stage Crash. I played one show with these- I am liking the 18" - it is LOUD, but luke warm on the 16". I almost pulled the trigger on a 19" AAX Xplosion Crash- sounded great but not sure it works for our style of music. They are both...

    Cymbal Advice

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't familiar with mycymbal.com and that will surely be a huge time suck! I'm not really familiar with Bopshorus cymbals but I am digging the sound of some of the Traditional line. Theres too many choices though very hard to hone in on something...

    Cymbal Advice

I know it’s a highly personal thing, but I’m hoping to get some advice on what cymbals to buy. I am a hobbyist, not a pro. I play in a local band here in Indy and we play a Replacements/BoDeans/Gaslight Anthem style of Americana (here’s a video from a recent show if you’re interested ). My...

    Benefits of a rack?

Thanks for all the great feedback. Stickinthemud, I don't quite follow you here. Do you have a van or something that you transport your stuff around in where you don't have to fold the legs up? I have a hardware bag that everything goes in, so everything gets folded up and collapsed to a...
