About 10 years ago I saw one of the doctors for the San Diego chargers football team. He didn’t give me an MRI or anything but I think he gave some good advice. He said just do cardio to get the blood flowing. And it’s true whenever I do cardio like running I’m not in pain. I haven’t done any...
I’m in San Diego which is 2 hours from L.A. I don’t really know anybody personally who’s gone through but I saw a video of drummer Thomas Lang where he talked about having to get surgery on his hand and he swore about his doctor who is a little north of L.A. which is even further from me. I...
I read in a book years ago four steps that supposedly can get get you anything you want in life. It’s based on the law of attraction. They are:
1. Identify what you don’t want.
2. From that, identify what you DO want.
3. Get into the feeling place of what you want.
4. Expect, listen, and allow...
Yeah and when I went to the physical therapist he sent me to it just seemed like they were all about making money. I barely worked with the main therapist, she would just have these college students work with me and would be explaining to them what to do with me while she worked on someone else.
Well he just kinda shrugged it off and said maybe there was some scar tissue there or something. He just didn’t act like it was anything major. Around this time, he said that I had radial tunnel syndrome. I probably need to do what you said and get my MRI and see someone else. This doctor is...
Well he didn’t really say. I had an MRI but he didn’t make a big deal about the results. He did say he thought maybe it had something to do with the nerve. My pain isn’t in the shoulder. It’s from elbow throughout the forearm and hand.
I’ve been to several doctors including orthopedics over the years. The last one had me do physical therapy and that didn’t work. He also mentioned surgery. That was a couple years ago.
So I’ve had a bad right arm for almost 20 years now. I hurt it by lifting weights and drumming too much. I probably need surgery but I don’t want to do it. My question is, is there any way to tune your drums so they are extra sensitive and don’t require a lot of arm effort so I maybe won’t...
Do you think they go better on deeper snare drums? My Pearl is 5x14 and has a 1.6mm TF hoop on the bottom I believe. I always just do the die-cast on the batter only because of the Stewart Copeland influence. Been messing with the tuning to get it most responsive. Before I just had a gretsch die...
I read a little while ago that one of Manu Katche’s secrets back in the day was to throw a Ludwig twin channel die cast hoop on his snare batter. I checked them out on eBay and they were super pricey but months later one came up that was more affordable so I got it. I put it on my old Pearl COB...
I agree. These Ludwig’s of my brother’s sounded pretty good when he got them too. They came with clear heads (maybe 2ply) on the toms and they sounded really low and fat. I was amazed you know for them being kids drums.
