Did Ludwig Standards ever have clear interiors?

Ludwig Standard series drums vs. Ludwig Classic series drums. The Standard's were lower cost and used less than pretty shells, which were coated. The Classic's were coated white after the Ringo factor, then transitioned to clear interiors (late 60's I think). The question was "were Standard's...

Information wanted for an early Tama Imperialstar King Beat 6.5 x 14 snare

    Maybe it was a 6-1/2"? Hmmmm…… I really don't recall, but I don't think it was 5", or maybe it was 5" & I thought it was 5-1/2".

    Slingerland Chocolate Milk?

I've never done it, but thought what would need to be done if I ever had to fix up a mid to late 60's kit. First, I would go to the local big box home center and get about 5 sample sized paints in various shades of tan. Then I would get a piece of maple plywood. May have to go to a real lumber...

Information wanted for an early Tama Imperialstar King Beat 6.5 x 14 snare

I used to own a 5-1/2 King Beat. It was a nice drum. Divorce forced me to sell off some equipment, and it lost out to my DW black nickel over brass. Sold it in 2007 or so for $200 if I recall correctly. It was in mint condition.

Do you Have Music Related/Inspired Tattoos?

Devo - Duty Now For The Future on my right shoulder, X (in old English from Under the Big Black Sun) on my left shoulder. Somewhere, there are photos of Exene Cervenka & I with our matching X tattoos, back when you had to take in film to be developed. I never had copies, she probably does in a...

    Yamaha 700 Straight Cymbal Stand

DB, meant to send this yesterday & got tied up. I no longer have the straight stand. I must have sold it when I got a matching straight / boom combo stand. Good luck on your search, they are great stands! Steve

Anyone else starting to like original condition kits more?

Wow! Somebody clicked all the boxes when they ordered that 80N! Late 70's tube-legged Buddy stands, including the boom stand with counterweight. Even the cymbal snaps. Very nice set-up you have, if had a beer I toast to it (and you!).

    Yamaha 700 Straight Cymbal Stand

DB, let me check later today. I have my old Yamaha hardware in the basement, but I know one was straight. Can't remember If it 600 or 700 series though. I'll get it out & post a photo later. Steve

Anyone else starting to like original condition kits more?

I remember a store in Alton, IL (Halpin Music) that would get Gretsch's from the factory with no mounts & install Pearl mounts. That may have been purchased new with a Pearl mount, the arm is obviously newer though.

Top 25 Cover Band Songs Every Classic Rock Drummer Needs to Should Know

I've never played in a cover band. I know a lot of people here do or have, and enjoyed it but I'm with Hounddog on this one. That said, I also never made a dime playing in original bands. But it sure was fun!

    1960 Slingerland 22,13,16,14

Very nice! Looks like the tom is upside down & missing the dampener. That has the holes for the earlier style. Here's one on ebay, but someone here may have one as well...
