I haven't measured, but to my eye they look a bit crooked as well.
I posted this on a Gretsch FB group to see if others had this issue and there's someone who was sent 4 snares because of this issue. 4! and the last one still had the issue.
also, I didn't mean to hijack this thread. just making you aware of an issue you may encounter if you go with the Broadkaster and get the snare as well. the rest of the kit is great, however.
the rep. I have been dealing with said he forwarded my email with pictures along to several people...
if I align one hoop hole with the lug then the next one is a little off, then the next one is more off, and so on. I think there's something wrong with their measurements where the holes are not drilled correctly.
the Broadkaster snare that came with the kit I bought from a retailer had lug splay issues. I sent that snare out and received a new one under warranty. The new snare has the same exact issue, so they are in the process of building me another one. This lug problem seems to be very common for them.
$2 a drum- that's incredible haha.
I am in the same boat (only a lot less monitors), but I work from home and am constantly checking for deals. I've gotten a couple of good ones, but missed out on some really good ones by one person.
if you use FB on mobile it only allows you to set it to 100 miles. if you use a computer you can set it to 500 miles. I do this from time to time and end up getting disappointed because when I do find deals it's the people who know nothing about drums and they are unwilling to ship.
I was actually interested in doing that initially, but at the time had too much gear coming in. I've seen several field drums for low prices too over the past few months and passed on them, which I am kicking myself for. I suppose I'll keep an eye out now.
looking to sell this 12x24 single tension bass drum. it appears to be an old marching drum that the previous owner added legs too (and spray painted). I stripped it down and refinished it. I've done some research and asked around, but haven't been able to come up with a brand. it thumps pretty...
looking to sell this shell and parts. the shell is in excellent condition and the hoops are in great shape with some minor flaking/flaws in spots.
included: shell, hoops, tension rods, throw, butt-plate. the original wires have one slightly bent wire, I can include if you're interested.
