Your initial post was about the "fat, schmushed-together lettering" aspect of the logo so that's what I looked at. The point of my post is that the "fat, schmushed-together lettering" really isn't much different than it was a decade ago since that's what you called out @bpaluzzi for.
Looking at a screenshot I took from a 2012 issue of Modern Drummer compared to the logo currently on the Evans website, the actual lettering for the word "Evans" hasn't really changed much. The kerning has just been applied more consistently, and the letters have a little more internal space.
For simple cleaning - just to get some surface stuff off and maybe a bit of tarnish - I like to use lemon juice with some baking soda mixed in. The lemon juice will remove a lot of tarnish, and the baking soda acts as a mild abrasive if you need to scrub. You want to get the lemon juice to just...
They're great heads. Normally I really dislike Evans heads, but these are great. I ended up buying a set of them for the toms on my walnut stave kit, paired with a Remo Renaissance on the bass drum.
From what I can tell, they don't offer a 13" tom in the regular Concept line. They did with the Concept Classics, but only in natural/stained colors with wood hoops. I think you would have to contact them about a custom order, which would probably be quite pricey.
