For my latest drum cover, I did "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus! I had a ton of fun reproducing the original electronic groove by adding in the cool snare buzzes and triplet flourishes on the hi-hat.
Really hope you enjoy :)
I usually play a Roland e-kit these days, but I have an acoustic kit that I use for gigging as well.
Since I'm not as used to playing on an acoustic kit, I was looking for advice on how to improve my setup/make it more ergonomic.
I have kit pics here:
Thanks so much! :)
I got some great constructive criticism that I was being too rigid and technical in my "Son of a Preacher Man" cover and not playing with a ton of feel. I took it to heart, and really tried playing with more feel this time, and trying to really get in the groove!
Here's my new take...
For my latest drum cover, I did "Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield! I love this song's "slightly swung" feel and iconic ride bell pattern at the end. I was re-watching Pulp Fiction the other day, and felt compelled to play this haha.
Would love your thoughts and hope you...
For my latest drum cover, I did "ME!" by Taylor Swift (ft. Brendon Urie). This is not my usual playing style, but a good friend requested it, and I actually had a lot of fun playing it! There was some cool marching band/drumline action in the original track. and I threw in "Crazy...
Here's my take on this 80s classic by the legendary Dio! I love how Vinny Appice's drumming is hard-hitting yet groovy, and his epic fills are so tasty. Hope you enjoy, and would love your thoughts :)
Hey guys! :)
So many of my friends requested I play this prog rock classic, so I had to cover it! I'd really appreciate any constructive criticism, thoughts, and feedback you have on my take of "Tom Sawyer." Neil Peart's style is so legendary and challenging, and Rush always inspires me...
I covered this classic Deep Purple track, trying to get the details right!
This song has a reputation for being "easy" due to its main guitar riff, but Ian Paice is one of the best rock drummers, hiding quite a bit of technical difficulty in his famous fills. His playing is quite rudimental (he...
Thanks guys! Yeah, I tried to develop more of a Moeller "pumping" motion for my right hand hi-hat playing for the second video - I was straight wristing it in my first video, which I think added to the choppiness! And I tried to make the ghost notes a bit louder and playing in the center...
So here's my humble attempt at "Rosanna" by Toto. Such an incredibly difficult song. I'm always looking to improve my playing, so if you have any feedback/constructive criticism, please let me know. Thanks :)
Hey y'all!! :D
Here's my drum cover of "Assassin" by Muse. This song was such a workout! I had incredible fun playing this, and I hope you enjoy :) I'd love any feedback & constructive criticism as well.
Thank you guys so much!!!!
