Have You Read "Crash: The World's Greatest Drum Sets"?

Yes, unfortunately for MD he purchased the magazine and is now the publisher. I doubt we'll see any objective articles about his book(s) in MD going forward. :)

Have You Read "Crash: The World's Greatest Drum Sets"?

This came back up on my radar because the author was recently on a KISS podcast I listen to every so often and Eric Singer wrote the afterward for the book and there are some old KISS kits in the book apparently. Sounds like this guy is the new publisher of Modern Drummer magazine...not good...

    Best all steel snare?

Not a huge Pearl fan...never owned a Pearl drum kit, however I did pick up one of their "limited edition" 13x7 beaded steel snares a couple of years ago and the thing never sounds bad. I'd go out on a limb a say it's the best all steel snare I've owned and fun size to play for someone who 97%...

    Vic Grip

Just noticed that some of the "new" Vic Firth 2017 models are actually already existing sticks that previously had the Vic Grip on the butt end but now either have it removed or replaced with a "matte paint". Wondering if they had issued with the "vic grip" or if artists are just changing their...

Paiste experts - what's this cymbal?

After looking at the hammering, gram weight, and time-frame I'd conclude it's a proto of a Dimensions Medium Heavy Wild Ride...like this one: (photo courtesy of Hazelshould...great place to pick up used gear)

Paiste experts - what's this cymbal?

Looks like an Innovations Prototype from 2003 to me. Could be Innovations or Dimensions...both had that "sand-blasted" hammering/finish. Good luck

    Paiste 2000

I do..love them. I'm a fan of the 400/1000/2000/3000 era in general but the 2000 Sound Reflections are by far my favorites of the bunch.
