Two shell banks instead of eight different kits?

My 5" deep USA Custom snare drum came in a couple of weeks ago. Today I ordered an 18"x14" bass drum and a 14"x6.5" snare drum. The only thing left to order for this shell bank is a 24"x14" bass drum. Here is a photo of the snare drum.

    22K? I guess so...

I knew that you've owned a lot of kits, but 22,000? Seriously though, your contributions here are appreciated.

So, my whole approach with regard to drums and drumming has completely changed...and I'm having the time of my life.

As a drummer since the 1970s I've always owned one drum kit, maybe two snare drums at a time, and a few extra cymbals. I had a major stroke in January of 2008. I used playing the drums as part of my rehab. I got a divorce around that time as when I had the stroke my wife didn't bother to come to...

Hate For 18" Deep Bass Drums. Just Me?

My 2008 DW Collector's Series kit has an 22"x18"bass drum, it fits that kit. I'm ordering additional bass drums for my DWs this coming year, I'm going with a 20"x16" and a 24"x18". My 2019 Gretsch USA Custom kit has a 22"x14" bass drum which I find to be a better fit for the "Gretsch sound"...

Just a reminder of what a badass Bruce Gary was long before The Knack...

I saw the Knack live in 1979. I thought that he took simple parts and made them fun.

Halloween gigs this weekend. What will you be wearing?

I don't have a Halloween gig this year, I'm okay with that. Last year the band that I was with dressed as the Addams Family.

    P85 snare throw off

I swapped a couple of my P-85s for P-86 throw-offs, which I really liked. My latest Ludwig Purchase, a Copper Sonic came with the P-88. pretty nice!

Show us your well worn or road worn or weathered gear

This is a photo of my 1975 Slingerland kit, I've owned since 1991. It is a 12", 13", 16", 18", 22" kit with a virgin bass, being used here in a 12",16", 22" configuration. I was my only kit between 1991 and 2008. It was well worn when I bought it, and I used it for close to a thousand gigs in...

    Ease of selling gear.

This shop charges me 25% for consignment. I give them a high and a low price when I drop it off. So far it has worked pretty well.

    Your Favorite Stick Bag

A friend of mine on Long Island has one of these, I really liked it. Unfortunately, I think that it is out of production. Yamaha made it when Erskine was an endorser, DW also made a version while he was endorsing their drums. I've been using a Humes and Berg Enduro at my rehearsal room across...

    Ease of selling gear.

I have a local drum shop that I consign kits, snare drums, and cymbals at. It get's them out of the way, I don't have to bother with the hassle of trying to sell them myself, and I get much more than I would selling them outright to GC or Music Go Round. Sometimes it takes a while to sell, but...

    13 inch snare drums

I used to have two Ahead black over brass snares, a 13" x 6 1/2" and a 14" x 6 1/2". the 4" was nice, but I loved the 13". I sold them together several years ago when I needed to upgrade my PA system. I thought that it would be easy to find another 13", I was wrong.
