    Mounting a hihat tambourine

Thanks for the tip. Storing this in memory for possible future use. Much better than a crappy ching ring!

Need help identifying vintage Paiste ride

That ride looks gorgeous. It's making me wish I had mine back! Enjoy it! That sound is about as classic as it gets right there!

    Sets of Cases or Bags?

I doubt they are offered in sets but the Ahead cases are very ergonomic and sturdily built. They are a pleasure to use if you can say that about a case.

Complete my Paiste setup with a Ride

Agree on 2002 Ride. The DE hats have a pretty bright attack. I never got to try mine with the 22" 2002 Ride that I had, but I believe that combo would work well.

Complete my Paiste setup with a Ride

The 15" Dark Energy hats can be pretty cutting. I think those hats would pair best with a ride of Medium weight or more.

    Drummer's Weekly Groovecast

You guys ARE listening aren't you? I like virtually hanging with these two guys. It's a great podcast. This week's episode on Sonny Payne was thoroughly enjoyable. http://drummersweeklygroovecast.com/

OT - Does anyone still watch The Walking Dead?

I'm still hanging in there. I did give up on Fear the Walking Dead though.

Need help identifying vintage Paiste ride

I agree label's don't matter much, but 400 extra grams will. I don't think it's a "Ride" model. But even if I'm wrong about that I'm certain that I would not want one 400 grams on the heavy side. Price won't help with that if it's too heavy.

... And here you go... See the weight of this model? Should hover right around there (3170g).

Need help identifying vintage Paiste ride

Steve probably has the weight ranges. Based on experience I would expect a 2002 Ride to be about 3000-3200 grams. 3600 seems off the charts if it's supposed to be a "Ride" model.

Need help identifying vintage Paiste ride

That weight make me doubt it's a 2002 Ride. Just intuitively it seems too heavy. Perhaps it's a Deep Full Ride? Just guessing.

    Cleaning, and protecting Paiste cymbals.

I have applied Paiste cleaner over the entire surface of the cymbals (Signatures, Twenties, and Masters) without harming the logos. Just go really easy on those areas and it should be fine. Blend. I've also used Paiste cleaner on Zildjians and Istanbuls with great results. It works with...

    I Got Yer Patina....

You'll damage the Paiste protective coating if you clean that off! :p

    I Got Yer Patina....

Wow! I hope you can get that off without damaging the cymbal! I imagine it must be a very hard crust?

    Agop Xist Ion Crashes

I see lots of drummer's with holey cymbals. Why is there no love for the Xist Ion series?

CRAZY price on these sweet hats!

I have the Mehmet Trio hats and they really are great hats. One of the best ideas ever for a set of hats.

    Agop Xist Ion Crashes

Is anyone using the Xist Ion crashes? I'm thinking of getting a 20". This would be in place of a China type. The china's can be so brash and loud. I think the Ion crash might be a good stand in.
