Holy moly! Funch, jazz cymbals from Denmark.

Went and tried his stuff in Copenhagen some three years ago (I live just 45 minutes away), when he just started getting more serious. Was not super impressed. Nice modifications, but they all sounded, hmm, like you just shave some hundred grams of an old Avedis and hammer it a bit. But a lot...

Anyone bought from this Reverb store?

Thx. The seller actually offered me a 40 $ discount. Maybe then covered by the increase on other stuff :-)

I know Steve Maxwell had some, some years ago.

Anyone bought from this Reverb store?

Yes, there are normal music stores. They are in the same area. Just came to think of Senkop, Drum Club Shop and Zuhal. Also Torab Majlesi (with V-Classic Cymbals) has his studio close by. Some you can message beforehand and ask them to take home what you want. Just be sure to buy what you ask...

Anyone bought from this Reverb store?

Nice. I will probably order a 22" Agop Idris Muhammad ride from them.

Anyone bought from this Reverb store?

I’m just curious how these stores compete with regional markets. I have before bought cymbals (Bosphorus and Agean) from a store called Sounds Anatolian, also based in Istanbul (and Bali). They also provide free shipping (DHL Express). Super good communication, helpful with providing cymbal...

Anyone bought from this Reverb store?

Been looking at Cymbal Crash. Based in Istanbul, Turkey. Normal or just below normal prices and got good reviews. Sent a message about a cymbal and got fast and very helpful answer. https://reverb.com/se/shop/cheapestquality Anyone here bought from them? I’m living in Sweden and been...

Take Your Pick: Gretsch Brooklyn-Sakae Trilogy- Sonor Vintage Series

Yep, the Sakae brand is still active. Korg took over. Not sure where they are taking the brand/production. Will probably not be the same as old Sakae though. Maybe Yamaha, for this year’s Namm, will take a step back to their history with Sakae? Just read in the latest Modern Drummer that Eric...

Take Your Pick: Gretsch Brooklyn-Sakae Trilogy- Sonor Vintage Series

Owned several Sakae Trilogy kits/sizes: 10x7, 12x8, 13x9, 14x14 and 16x16 toms with 18x14, 20x14, 22x14 and 24x14 bass drums. They all had their charm and tuning range. My favourite configurations were the 18/12/14 and 13/16/24. These are beautifully made drums. Thin shells, light hardware...

Snare drum stand to fit wood hoop snare?

If you like to go with flat base stands, try Tama Classic. I also remember using another Tama stand, can't remember series though.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

Today I got to try a 18x14 and 20x14 and finally decided to get the 18x14. Felt the most like the sound I have in mind and need. Thx everyone for your opinions/suggestions.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

Keeping everyone updated. On Monday I will get to try a vintage Gretsch 18x14 and a 20x14 side by side. Not quite the same as a new USA Custom but it will have to do. ATM leaning toward the 20x14 but let’s see.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

Got a quote from my dealer on a 20x14 - not that much of a difference in price from an 18.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

I mostly play gigs that doesn’t require too much punching :-) However, I do like a long decay. But tastes/gigs change, and who knows when I will be in the need for something larger than a 18?

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

Thx. Yep, also love 18x14 :-) I’m prepared to wait - my dealer said 7 months...around midsummer.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

Hmm, maybe my 16x12 satisfies my desire for small bass drums... I asked my dealer for an estimate on a 20x14.

    18x12 or 18x14? Or 20?

I play mostly jazz. Low volume. Had a lot of 18x14 from different brands, always been happy with that size. My thinking was to get something different. Maybe the 18x12 will be too different. A bit too quick response and lacking depth.
