Long time no see, Got an odd one!

I've seen this statement before. But the badge on mine reads "Wausau, Wisconsin." My snare at least was made by the same company that still makes bags and cases in Wisconsin. Maybe they also made the drums in Quebec? I'm gonna email them and ask.

    I think so, yeah.

Those are fifteen dollars more than the drum cost! Holy cats.

I desoldered the ruined wires, but here's a shot of the ends.

Yeah, NOBODY sells those snare wires. Cannon used to, but they were discontinued ears ago. On eBay, there's one guy in Spain with a set that wants $60 for them! SO I'm gonna have to engineer a solution.

Long time no see, Got an odd one!

Hey, everyone. I was wandering around the pawnshop today, and found a snare drum. I was interested because it had a parallel strainer and ten lugs. Wait, did I say ten? Nope. 12. Twelve lugs. Made by some off-brand called Impact. Bleh, whatever, I need the strainer for my Yamaha. $55 out...

Long shot. Yamaha Stage Series lugs.

Glad it worked out! I also have an '80s Stage series. I keep thinking about selling them, but then I play them and change my mind. :) Getting some help from another forum member here with a floor tom and some spurs...and more lugs, always more lugs. I'll be sure to start a thread about the...

    John Grey Autocrat?

I got a John Grey Autocrat shell COB. I need to drill it for lugs and a strainer. Would die-cast hoops be the recommended thing?

Long shot. Yamaha Stage Series lugs.

Thanks, Ian! The seller had a total of 40 tom lugs listed, I snagged them all for about $50. That much closer to my resto.

    Evans

Yeah, I love Evans but the EMAD is just garbage. I'd rather use a Superkick than one of those again. That said, I love me some Remo Powerstroke heads.

    Evans

I use the EC2s on top and G2s on the bottom. Great heads, stay in tune like crazy, finally found the sound that was in my head.

    Unwrapping a water-damaged kick drum

SO I picked up an old Yamaha kit to restore. The one I need lugs for. Anyways, the bottom of the bass drum is water-stained on the inside, but the shell is still in round and the bearing edges look remarkable for a kit it's age (late 80s Stage 5000, mahogany outer plies with beech inner...

    Guess the Yamaha.

    You're the best!
