If you own one of these drums I'm seeking recommendations on what batter head you like on it and what sonic properties you think it lends to the sound.
I just purchased one but haven't had the time to play it yet. I just know that I usually change out the stock batter head on my snare drum...
I really like the new Tama Classic BD pedal. It's fast and easy to dial in.
I did experience one easily solvable problem though.
I used this on both Friday and Saturday night's' 4 hour gigs.
When I was packing up after the Saturday gig I noticed the screw in the photo had come all the way out...
Jazz Alley, Seattle WA.
What an incredible talent and nice guy
Actually met him 39 years ago at a clinic where he played my newly purchased '79 Superstars. I couldn't take them home until after the clinic.
Played my Saturn Vs and my new Dynasonic wood reissue at last nights gig. Great sounding combination. Loads of thump-n-crack married with great tone!
Our keys\sax\guitar player really digs the Dynasonic. He started out as a drummer many years ago.
While tracking my latest order from Rich Sticks via USPS it was supposedly delivered to one of the 2 parcel boxes by my house where our individual mailboxes also reside.
I open up my individual slot and there is a key for a parcel box. Open it up and it contains two packages.... for a neighbor...
After seeing Bandits Red/ Blue Sparkle Hybrid thread I dipped into my gig money and put the rest on my AE card and bought a 3 piece from Donn Dennett Drum Studio. 18 x 22 BD, 9 x12 and 16 x16 toms. I'll use my 6 1/2 x 14 Heinzman Snare ( a friend of mine is a drum builder.) with these.
Since at times people say there are no stupid questions here goes...
I currently have a 22'' 70's Ludwig and have a chance to pick up a 24" shell. Will the lugs on a 22" fit the 24"?
Thanks in advance!
After my band's gig last weekend our lead guitar player says it was his last gig. Apparently he's going through some physical issues that affect his left hand and it gets painful to play.. Since we have many gigs lined up our bass player/lead singer enlisted one of his former bands' guitar...
During my lunch hour at work I had some time to kill today so I decided to drive through the neighborhood I grew up in. The first picture is the house I grew up in but it looks nothing like when I lived there.
Yes Ringo on Ed Sullivan, Charlie Watts etc... helped fuel my desire to take up the...
Saturday night while I was gigging my bass pedal started feeling like there was something weird going on. It felt like there was extra movement somewhere from the pedal.
I looked down and the beater had moved to the right along the shaft. No matter how much I cranked down the tension rod with my...
Perhaps this is a stupid question but I'm asking it anyway.
I would like to use a different batter head on my Breakbeat bass drum. I don't see a lot of options for 16" bass drum heads and want to go with a coated head.
So what is the difference between a "bass drum" head as opposed to a tom head...
I'm only looking for an L80 16" crash not the whole set. I have the 13, 14, 18 set but would like another crash. Anyone unhappy with their L80's and would you be willing to sell just the 16?
Probably a long shot but oh well, gotta try.
Last night I bought a 5 x 13 Legend Snare Drum. It does not have the original throw off on it. The butt plate is original.
I'm trying to decide if I should replace it with an actual Legend throw off or use a DW Mag. I really like the DW.
Can anyone compare and contrast these two?
