Coming up during Pearl’s popularity in the States, people in my father’s generation had more of a problem with Pearl than people my age at the time. We saw the Pearl name on TV, so we wanted the drums.
Intros and outros, for me, are what makes the song and band sound polished. I remember spending an entire rehearsal figuring out the best outro to one song that faded. We determined that the best way was to go to the last half of a pre-chorus and end with the chorus. Worked very well.
