Good eye. It is indeed 14 x 8. Pretty sure its a one off made by Paul Bleifuss who built drums in the early aughts. Eight ply maple with an inner play of fiberglass that was originally made for a symphonic drummer in San Diego but made its way to a good friend and on to me who have exchanged it...

Yup! The faux round badge mutant caddy green frogs. They are orphan SSBs with a converted floor tom as the bass drum, and yes it is 10 lugs. As they were before I got them: I added period correct spurs and a rail mount:

I'd guess he probably has most of it? I remember him threatening to sell but never really selling much, if anything. Probably out of spite.

I don't know, but my guess is that based on how Lasse describes his process in the article, the way a cymbal sounds is why he calls them a specific clone, ie IVa, IIIb, IIb, etc. I do think there are some general characteristics for his clone lines that track together...like the IVs sound more...

Yah, I agree here too. As far as the hype, I hear ya. Jesse, Craig, Manabu, Matt, etc, etc, are all doing incredible work. I don't consider Lasse's cymbals "better." As I've posted before, they are just different and enjoyable. There is more appetite to discuss Lasse's work right now than there...

Completely agree. Cymbal sound and feel are equally important. I've had some really nice cymbals, both from the big 3 and the independents, that just didn't feel right to me. Nothing wrong with said cymbals, if anything, probably more my touch or lack thereof. The response of the Funches is...

Wow. Would love to hear it!

I appreciate all the commentary around the cymbals, really. But I'm more intersted in what y'all think of the sound. So, rivets?

Purchased from Bettis? Someone should buy it just for spite. But seriously, I sent you a PM.

The "necessary upcharge" is everywhere. People are trying to sell Funch cymbals for more than he does. I don't get it. One of the smaller aspects of the cymbalholic community I miss is people selling gear at reasonable prices. So much exchanged hands that way. At this point, it would have to...

Thanks! I agree the chain provides some subtle dryness. My other Funches have changed a fair bit since I got them and so I plan on playing this one for a while before deciding to add rivets or not. I bought one of these stack chain sizzle sticks. I'm guessing it will be similar to dental floss...

After getting these first Funches and getting to play them for a while, I've been really quite impressed. The IIIb, IVa, and Elvin I have are fantastic, but I was curious about some more medium weight cymbals. Super thin cymbals have been in vogue for a while now, but I often prefer more medium...

What is your Main cymbal setup for gigs

Not gigging right now, but if I were for a hypothetical gig I'd most likely use the following. For specific situations I might swap in/out a bunch of different cymbals depending on context and volume, but these three do pretty much anything I need. 24 60s A that is mediumish with rivets 20...

I think these are generally more expensive by $100-150 even when accounting for shipping from Denmark.

I don't know, my guess is its probably a mix like it is for most the independent cymbalsmiths?
