Timothy Roberts is right up the road from me so I was looking into having him lathe them

Lathing weight off 1st stamp Zildjians

I hear all of y’all echoing the sentiment to leave them alone. Seeing as that was the angel on one of my shoulders I’ll probably listen to that! I’ll keep an eye out for a lighter orphan 14 to throw on top and see how that works out. I agree that lathing them would ruin their mojo and their...

Lathing weight off 1st stamp Zildjians

I’ve been keeping an eye out for orphan trans stamps and what not. I tried pairing them with a K mastersound top and the first stamp on bottom and they were alright. I would use them both as bottoms if I end up with some orphan 14 old A or K

Lathing weight off 1st stamp Zildjians

That is my only fear losing that heritage they have. But they are just too heavy for me right now and I can’t seem to part with them through sell or trade. I’m almost thinking I wouldn’t mind them not being 100% original if it gets me the sound I’m looking for and they end up on the stand...

Lathing weight off 1st stamp Zildjians

I have a set of 14” first stamp hi hats on the heavy side at 1071/1252g. They are a little heavy for my use at the moment and I am contemplating having them lathed down in weight on the bottom of the cymbals. Has anyone here ever had any weight lathed off of an old A? Curious to hear any...

What's with the mass exodus from Zildjian all of a sudden?

As much as I love Zildjian, and own only Z’s + a Lauritsen. I look forward to giving Paul Francis the $ on my next cymbal purchase. What @1988fxlr said earlier, Zildjian does have its own success to deal with. Most Z’s I like nowadays are old or discontinued, and I have a Zildjian for ever...

What's with the mass exodus from Zildjian all of a sudden?

I’m not even 100% sure Mark is with Agop, I saw a post of his saying for the time being he is playing whatever he finds inspiration in. And that just happened to be a set of RB Gretsch and 30th Anniversary agops at that moment

These are great, lightweight enough not to choke the cymbal, and a present but not overbearing jingle. Plus they look awesome! My bass player even complimented their sound last night

That pretty much describes them. I could make a crappy cell phone video. I don’t have a YouTube channel though

I’ve riveted 2 cymbals. Both I found the cymbals resting point on the stand then went 12, 3, 9 o’clock, 2 inches in. 3 rivets on my 22 MtL sounds great

    18” New Stamp 1502g SOLD!

Letting go of a beautiful New Stamp K Istanbul 18” at 1502g this one is great for a left side crash ride. Nice woody stick, lush crash, dark bell, wonderful patina, signature is still in great shape and some factory ink can still be seen on the bottom. A very slight keyhole, no other issues...
