A tangent: Does anyone else cringe a little at the term "virgin bass drum"? It can be read as new and untouched, like virgin snow, but it always sounds to me like something that isn't open to having a shaft jammed into it. Ugh.
Here's a thread about this line of Spizzichino cymbals. There are remailer services that would ship from an address in Italy but doesn't sound worth it. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=58941
This is a great video of him teaching an audience how to count in 7/4. I like that much of the comments section is about whether he's having them clap on 1 or 7.
A year ago I got a deal on Craigslist, someone dumping a Pearl kit and hardware with a bunch of cymbals for $350. Turned out to be a full set of Avedis A in decent shape, and I was excited to have the New Beat 14 hi-hats but then found a pair of 14" 2002 heavy hats in the bag too. I had a...
Today someone was selling a drum kit for $30 on Craigslist, saying their kid had outgrown it. $30 was an appropriate price for the shells, the kind you buy at Target. The cymbals however -- couldn't tell from the photo what the hi-hat was, but the crash looked like a Zildjian A and the ride...
I've run a business, and I think they have a valid complaint.
That said, the manufacturer might require retailers to raise prices to the new retail. It also is not an unreasonable thing for retailers to raise prices on existing inventory. At the same time, running a business does not always...
I just noticed the thread title does not specifically state that it's for *good* deals so I'll add this one, because I'm curious -- why does someone leave something sitting on Reverb for five years? I guess the price is a little high for an 18" cymbal but it was in a room with Gene Krupa, that...
Hijacking for a moment, I'm also looking at an early 1960s A Zildjian 19" (described as crash/ride) at 2004g. What's that weight say to people?
btw they want $100.
1960s Zildjian 14" hi-hats, $163 shipped. Update: Sold. The seller sent an offer of $10 less to anyone who'd looked at the listing, and I was tempted but put it off, now I regret it :icon_lol:

Istanbul Mehmet Legend 21". I've been looking for a jazzy ride and this sound is just what I think I've been looking for. Just arrived today off Ebay and I'm very happy with it.
Side question: Does Istanbul not put etched stamps on their cymbals?
Zildjian K 20" Jazz Ride, Santa Rosa, CA. $100. He had it posted at $150 and I'd driven halfway to get it, then he stopped responding to email (I hadn't gotten an address). If you happen to live nearby it's worth a try, your luck might be better than mine...
Got this a cymbal year or two ago with a Sonor kit from late 90s that I think was the seller's kid's in high school. Came with a Sabian Hand Hammered HH bounce ride, the top half of an El Sabor hi-hat and a random Sound Source bottom. I don't actually like the sound of this crash that much...
