    good UK drum shops?

The pound sterling just hit a 37 year low against the dollar!!! About to pull the trigger on a pair of Coles 4038s for like 35% off US retail. There have to be some killer drum deals as well, no? Hell, Matamps have never been so cheap, either. Where should we all be looking right now? Gotta...

FS: Yamaha 80s Tour Custom and Tama Artstar II kits

I do like them and would love to keep them, but I have 4 24” kicks right now and I really prefer 22” Besides, I have a Jenkins Martin and a Sonor Lite (and a Granstar custom) this has to compete with, if a band coming in wants a 24. Just hoping to get back what I paid for them is all and make...

FS: Yamaha 80s Tour Custom and Tama Artstar II kits

Noticed a couple dings on the floor Tom. Also didn’t realize how poor some of those pics came through. I’ll add more shortly. Also noticed the one badge on the rack looks to just be glued on and instead of drilling a new vent hole, the previous owner just filled in the hole with a marker or...

Yes! Cut down power Tom. I honestly hadn’t realized!! I bought this just before my daughter was born in November and barely touched it! Edges look good! Hadn’t realized though I did think the badge position was odd! Mount was moved as well.

FS: Yamaha 80s Tour Custom and Tama Artstar II kits

Pics of “fixes” of the finish on the bass drum and other details - badges, floor Tom legs, and some dings I just noticed on the floor Tom. Chrome is pretty clean. Minor putting in some spots but looking pretty okay generally. Hardware inside floor Tom has some rust. Will get some pics of the...

FS: Yamaha 80s Tour Custom and Tama Artstar II kits

Up for sale is a ‘88 Yamaha Tour Custom kit with birch/mahogany shells w white lacquer. Dimensions are 24x18, 16x16 and 13x? (Gotta double check that one). It’s a great kit but I don’t need 6 kits and gotta make room for a Jenkins Martin I’m picking up next week. It’s a player’s kit. Bass drum...

    scam AK/Craviottos on Reverb, beware!

Yeah. Lots going around, sadly. I just had to get a refund thru PayPal for a pair of Coles 4038 ribbon mics. Price was just a little bit too good though seemed possible. Nope

Just popping in to say these snares are incredible. Mine often beats my keplinger and my bell bronze in the studio.

Speak to me of "bell brass" snare drums.

Bah! Just saw the news on the previous page! Bummer! I would maybe wait a little. It’s worth it! Isn’t even the Gretsch like $1200 now? And with tax on top?! Yikes

Speak to me of "bell brass" snare drums.

Another vote here for Duluth! I almost bought an Oriollo but the Duluth ended up being half the price and I am in no way disappointed! You can get it whatever depth you want, determine shell thickness, rerings, pick your hardware, etc. If you don’t care about the bronze hoops, it’s even...

    Overhead mic

Oktava MK012. Can be found used for $100ish all the time. Great sound without brash high end some cheap condensers have. They are modular and have a variety of other capsules you can get also. Super useful mic. I own 5 for my studio and use them on every session!

    New snare - Sakae Steel 6.5" x 14"

i had bought this exact snare on clearance about two years ago. I really never got along with it and ultimately sold it. Too much ring for me - I tried a ton of heads. It was awfully nice to look at and I did love the hardware, tho! Kept the drum key - too cool looking to let go of. That...

    Inde aluminum kit owners

I'm close to pulling the trigger on one of these. I'm curious what depths you went with. I'm thinking of what I'm used to: 22x16, 16x16 and 13x9. Josh seems to encourage folks to get shallower kicks. I've only had one 14" deep kick - a 70s Rogers kit. I liked it just fine, but preferred...
