I like the drummer but can’t stand the band

I’m going to get drawn and quartered but here goes: Bonham Mitch Mitchell Steve Jordan (with John Mayer) Stanton Moore (with Galactic) I should say I do like a song or two by Zepplin and Hendrix, but generally speaking I don’t like either band.

Did Ludwig Stop Offering Different Bearing Edges?

Ah, that's good to know. I'll check it out. Thank you.

Did Ludwig Stop Offering Different Bearing Edges?

I thought I remembered seeing that you could order different bearing edges on the Classic Maple drums. I just was looking through the Ludwig website and I don’t see it mentioned anywhere. Did they stop offering the different bearing edges?

    Aluminum snare drum

Whatever the cheapest one they offer. 100% don’t recommend.

    Aluminum snare drum

Love the drum, hate the cheap throw off. And no, the Inde aftermarket model will not fit the holes. Bummer. The snare tension comes loose pretty much after every other song.

Anyone gone from 22 or 24 to 20 bass drum?

I played 22" bass drums for more than 20 years and never really had an issue with them. Then, I played a few 20" bass drums that I loved, mostly due to the punchiness and ability to position the rack tom lower. So, I went ahead and added a 20" bass drum to my pre-existing Gretsch Brooklyn set...

PayPal initially posts on line the potential of $2500 fines for "misinformation." Then retracts it after backlash.

So, people are closing their paypal acccounts because they are upset that if someone makes deliberately inaccurate comments while purchasing a drum set that person could be fined? Uh...okay. At least they can still go over to Parler and make those same deliberately misleading comments without...

    Honest Abe Instrument Company

I disagree for the reason I mentioned earlier. When spending this kind of money on a snare drum, I want to like everything about it- especially if I can't play it in person first. There are enough great-sounding snare drum options out there that I shouldn't need to sacrifice the appearance. I...

    Honest Abe Instrument Company

Totally understand where you are coming from. My issue is with how ugly the lugs are. If they had a different look -hell, maybe even if they had tube lugs- I would be willing to take the risk. But if I’m buying a snare that costs this much, I had better like everything about it- sound, function...

To each their own, and I have heard great things about some of their drums, but those lugs are a dealbreaker for me. They really detract from the look of the drum. I’m sure the drum sounds fantastic, but I’d have to close my eyes every time I played it.

Best Snare Stand to Use With a Rack Tom?

I do not have the UL model. Never even knew this existed. Another one for me to check out.

Best Snare Stand to Use With a Rack Tom?

The ratchets in the adjusting mechanism puts it right where I don’t want it. It’s super frustrating. I do appreciate how light it is.

Best Snare Stand to Use With a Rack Tom?

I have used one of these in the past and while it works well, it’s heavier than I want.

Best Snare Stand to Use With a Rack Tom?

I’m looking for a lightweight snare stand that is completely adjustable to use with my 12” rack tom. My current snare stand, a DW 6000, is lightweight but due to the ratchets in the pivoting mechanism, it can’t get into the position I need. My 745 series Yamaha had the exact same issue. I have...
