When I said the tuning was spot on, I meant they were all at the same tuning.
I'm sure they could have done medium and high tunings so that all the drums were just as close to each other as the lows were.
But it would have taken a lot more time, and the video would also have been much longer.
They really got the tuning spot on. And the playing was very consistent for dynamics too. Nice video.
They all sound good. For most of the drums I probably wouldn't be able to tell which was which in a blind test,
except for two of the 16" FT's and two of the bass drums.
I love Ludwig drums -...
I've liked the looks of that set, but had the same concern about the hoops.
I'd be curious to know how much higher they are than standard triple flange.
They don't look that high in your pictures compared to most stock pictures I've seen.
I blame the internet and forums in general. 10 years ago, I decided to learn to play bass.
Joined TalkBass and before I knew it, or could even really play, I had over a dozen basses.
Went for 40 years with one drum set, but since I joined a couple drum forums,

Until your post, I forgot I have a K Custom Medium. I rotate rides occasionally, but some tend to stay bagged up unless I dig for them.
It's a good cymbal. Not outstanding in any one area, but I guess that could make it versatile too.
Zildjian only currently makes the K 22 Dark Medium Ride - no 20. I had the 22 Dark Medium, but sold it.
I much prefer my 20 and 22 K Custom Dark Rides.
But the OP asked for most versatile, and while I love the KCD's, they're not the most versatile Zildjians I've currently got.
