If you want an amazing seamless copper snare that won't break the bank, I highly recommend Temple Drums. I've been playing mine nonstop since it arrived, it is absolutely phenomenal.

I have that same Yamaha throne and it has been a lifesaver for me. Grab a DS750 and use that base with it. Substantial weight savings!

I loved them both but chose to keep the copper color one as it was actually a tad less dry which I prefer! I have used it for literally every gig since it arrived. Such a killer snare. And yes, @aparker2005 has at least one drum from these guys and was part of the inspiration for my order.
