    Todd Rundgren

The late-great John Siomos of Peter Frampton fame played on "Hello It's Me." According to Stanley Sheldon (Frampton's bass player) when Peter heard that song he wanted John in the band.

Help me learn about my Zildjian A’s!

Try mixing your SE bottom with the A Zildjian top. I'll bet you'll be pleased with the results. The bright "chick" you get with SE hats is due to the bottom cymbal. I did this years ago with a New Beat top and a 602 SE bottom. Sounded great, but eventually I wanted the warmer (less brighter)...

Hi all, As some of you know, I've been doing Facebook Live chats to help break up the monotony and this Saturday, May 30th at 2pm ET I'll be joined by my old pal Stan Lynch, original drummer for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. I recall there being a lot of Stan fans here, so hopefully you can...

OT: what do you think of where you live?

I'm a New England guy too - south shore of Boston and love it here. We're moving from Scituate, MA, where we've lived for 22 years, to the next town over, Cohasset, MA. Hoping to move mid-June. I grew up north of Boston, and lived in Los Angeles for about four years in the 80s, and in southern...

    I finally understand Ringo!

It's how clean he plays the 8th note hi hat pattern at that tempo and the overall groove of the song. It may be that I just suck and can't play it like Ringo. But if you can play it as clean and even as Ringo, I'd love to hear it and I'm not being snarky - I'd love for someone to show me how to...

    I finally understand Ringo!

It sure is! It floors me every time! Ah yes... but of course... my mistake on the halftime shuffle reference.

I received my dream snare drum yesterday... Just want to share it with you all...

Yours is beautiful too. If you ever decide to part with it, please let me know. It would be incredible to have one of each badge, but I won't hold my breath :)

Not sure which video you’re referring to Scott, but one of the videos is a TV show where the band is miming the song. I’m assuming you’re referring to that? It would be common to mute the drums while miming to a recorded track.

The black SSB has always been my favorite. He still has it. It was on display in the Stones “Exhibitionism” traveling museum. Both of his black Gretsch kits in fact. The last tour he used his black kit was Europe in 1976... He started using the natural wood kit in 1978 and never looked back...

Very cool Radio King! I think you posted these before and it's no less exciting to see them again. My sister saw them at the Boston Garden a couple of weeks later. I had to wait until June 1975 to see them. And full disclosure, I was 11 when I started playing in the summer of 1972, but turned...

:) Welcome to the party, @bellbrass . It's never too late to "get" Charlie. He was my first drum hero when I started playing in 1972 at age 11. I moved on to other heroes as my drumming tastes evolved, but I never strayed far from Charlie. And as I got to know pro drummers in my adult life, it...
