What's Your Chosen Ride For Rock?

My current go to ride is a 21" AAX X-Plosion ride. Perfect balance of ping and wash and can be crashed too.

Did he saw which retailer this is?

What did I just read? Makes no sense at all. Based on that though it seems that Andy Zildjian was the one who came up with the idea to do the rebranding.

I'm curious if they'll do the same thing with the AA, FRX, etc. Logo at the 3:00 position. If so then maybe it won't be so bad with the Sabian logo only on the bottom.

I played a couple of the new models at GC over the weekend- 18" thin crash and 15" medium hats. The crash is definitely a bit darker than before but still cuts and the hats sounded nice although I think they need a little breaking in first. As mentioned above the logo is only on the bottom so...

I feel the same way you do. I'm torn between accepting and keeping them or selling them and going back to Z. I just completed my AAX/AA setup too...

By next year those might be called HHX medium rides. I hope they don't get rid of the AA raw bell crash because that's one of my favorite crashes. It's like a thinner X-Plosion crash that's not as thin as the X-Plosion fast. Idk if they've even thought about how this might be a big mistake but...

I think there will be plenty of old logo stock available still to keep everyone happy until next year at least, or when they start putting the new logo on the other models.

If only Zildjian would offer brilliant finish on all of the A's I would happily go back to them. Now there's a logo that is cool and classy, not to mention timeless.

I think they're keeping it on the top on the AA, FRX, etc. At least that how the demo models at NAMM were. But maybe they'll change that too, if they decide to move the logo to the side and all that to keep it consistent with the HHX and AAX.

Maybe the old logo cymbals will one day be collectors items.

No no no no no that's not what we wanted! I guess they're just being stubborn then. Maybe at least they could consider making the logo smaller?

Like they're proud of it somehow, that it's rubbing people the wrong way.

That part really disturbs me. Better to not say anything in response then to do what they're doing now.

    Poll: The Sabian Re-Brand

Agreed. I have a friend who is a long time Sabian endorser, currently out on the road with a well known musician. He told me that he hates the new logo and doesn't want it on his cymbals. I wonder if other artists feel the same. Maybe if a bunch of them express their disapproval something might...

About 30 seconds in he says that you can special order cymbals with the old logo.

NAMM videos perspective from an old guy

One of my current pet peeves. So many people, esp those around my age, taking their words as gospel even though all they do is play along to backing tracks. When some of these guys actually get on stage with other musicians on a regular basis then I'll seriously consider what they have to say. I...

    Poll: The Sabian Re-Brand

They had it printed on the display cymbals at NAMM, bottom on the new AAX and the regular places for AA, FRX, etc. Based on photos I saw. Unless they just did that for the show and the regular production ones will have the old logo. Interesting too that all the cymbals bolted to their big wall...

    Poll: The Sabian Re-Brand

Honestly I would've already pre-ordered an 18" medium crash and 22" heavy ride by now if it weren't for the logo, with the thin crash and medium ride following later. Those 2 would work great for my current musical endeavors.
