    Seriously?

Psst. I've got some stuff to sell the guy who buys this, including some sticks that Ringo might have used once for just 500.00. https://reverb.com/item/33670976-dw-9500-hi-hat-stand-three-leg-gold-plated

    Copper shell cleaning question

Hey all, I recently acquired a copper snare that has a nice patina on it, but is also very grimy and dirty. What is the best way to get the gunk off without removing the patina? Just some mild soap and water? Anything else? Anything to avoid? Thanks

6.5" x 14" Greg Gaylord Drum Solo snare. Immaculate condition! 500.00 OBO

Hey all, New lower price or 500.00 OBO on this great drum! I've got this really great snare drum, but it just doesn't get played that much and it should. Greg, if you didn't know, have been head of production at Craviotto for the past several years. Before that, he made his own line of 'Drum...

Pearl ISS new tom mounts. Opinions please

The newer version has three clips that attach to the top rim. Those that have used them, have you noticed any issues? Do they choke the sound? Do they bend the rims? Trying to compare them to Rims mounts for a 12" tom. Thanks!

    SOLD - Craviotto 6.5 x 14 Walnut. 2016 with lowered price!

Hate to part with this drum. Totally love it, but had the opportunity to purchase a different Craviotto that I've always wanted, so I need to sell this to finance the other one. Amazing drum. Signed in 2016, so just a few months before Johnny's passing. It has an Aquarian vintage head on it...

Jenkins-Martin vs. good wood shelled drums: Need serious reviews and comparisons

Hey all, I was interested in this about a year ago, but couldn't pursue it until now. Before I go further, I wanted to get some opinions. I have a great Craviotto walnut set with 30 deg edges (12-15-20 and Remo ambassadors) as well as a wonderful vintage Super Classic (13-16-22 with vintage...

Does anyone know how well this vintage Ludwig strainer system worked?

Hey all, Anyone own one of these drums? If you do, does the snare strainer system work as advertised, or was it a failed experiment? Doesn't look like it was sold for a long time. Thanks

    Craviotto tension rods & lugs

Hi there, I was wondering if any other have this annoying Craviotto issue. Of course, the shells themselves are perfect and the drums sound great. No issues there. My problem is that many of the tension rods on all drums do not spin freely in the lugs. I would describe it as similar to at...

Help me with this cymbal ID

Hey guys. Not having any luck looking on the interwebs finding any pics that look like this. Very heavy 20" unlathed and completely unhammered cymbal. Kinda like an Zildjian Earth ride. I know it's an A. Zildjian from the stamp, but no ink remains. Thanks!

Velcro on the Evans bass drum pad muffler

Hey all, I'm kinda intrigued with these things, but I'm a bit hesitant about adhering velcro to the shells. I've always just used a towel, but I hate constantly messing with it. For reference, I have a vintage Ludwig set with the original painted interiors. I don't want to screw up the...

My Restored '66 Ludwig Champagne Sparkle Super Classics!

This is a Craig's List find from last December. I bought them dirt cheap, but they were filthy and neglected. I couldn't really inspect them properly before the purchase, but the price was such that they were certainly worth the chance. Let me say that I've never really had an opportunity to...

    Jazz festival strainer issue

Hi all. I have a mid 70's Supraphonic with it's original P-85 (black label, w/ just two snare cord holes) strainer and it works like a charm. No issues. I recently picked up a '71 Jazz Festival snare with the same strainer, except it has more snare cord holes and it is an earlier version that...

Ludwig T-rods are loose. Any fix?

I have four or five bass drum tension rods off of a '66 drum where the T-handles are loose from the tension rods. Easy to feel the jiggle. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.

    Ludwig Bass drum head combo

I know, I know. This MUST be the 1,000th thread on this, but I thought I'd ask anyway.... I'm playing mostly R&B and big band music these days. One of the last steps for this restoration is picking some heads for the bass drum. I'm pretty out of the loop on this. I have an SK-1 with a...
