Same nylon just shaped like the wood tip. I asked Peter at a NAMM show if they could make his Big Band stick in nylon. Never happened.

I have the only remaining two pairs of the nylon tip version. Indistinguishable in sound from the wood tip but lasting 4 times as long.

    Hand Exercises

Here's another one for the thread readers. Accents throughout are the 1st note of a group of three. Play it with single strokes first to get the feel of the accents changing positions. Metronome recommended. Then experiment with the other stickings. Easy to understand but still a challenge to...

I found a Super Ludwig with original heads.

NICE! The nickel still has a bit of sheen to it. Looks fantastic. Is the strainer smooth?

    4 vintage snares

Yeah all very nice drums. For a warm vintage vibe the two that jump out at me are the 60's Slingerland and the Round Badge 4103. That kit still kills me!

    50's A's...

That's the one 60's 3 dot. 2496g's. Very smooth rock ride is the way I think of it. A bit dark even. None of the harsh highs well balanced and a (large) great bell. I traded a mediocre snare for it years ago. Looks like an early 3 dot to me.

    Ed Thigpen surprise score

Nice trap case score. Do guys use those any more. I still have one but don't use it. Anyway I thought your story was going to continue with "...so I opened the trap case for the first time and inside was a half smoked joint, a few business cards with women's phone numbers on the back, a pair of...

    Repairing a Crack Myself?

One added benefit to loosing 34gs in the cutout is the cymbal now rests with the cutout away from me instead of directly in the hit zone which I think created the crack in the first place. It's all covered in my new six part instructional YT video "How to Place Your Cymbals on your Cymbal Stands."
