How to remove vintage tom post bracket?

Oh, I see, like a high hat clutch :angel8: I was able to get them all off using the vice grips as suggested. Worked enough to get a little grip on the top and (with the help of the wife), we got them all off. I knew she was good for something! (Don't tell her I said that :angel1:)

How to remove vintage tom post bracket?

Yes, this is my last resort as it's a vintage kit and, though I'll be replacing the bolts, I'd like to keep original hardware in case I sell it in the future.

How to remove vintage tom post bracket?

Trying to remove this post bracket since the hardware is vibrating. However, since the drum was painted on the inside, paint dried on the bolt and the top side is rounded and doesn't have a phillips or flathead groove to hold it in place. I was able to get on off because I was able to get...

Best way to paint vintage bass drum hoop?

Looks great! Good call on the matte finish. The can that blew up on me was glossy. I’ll do matte this time. Was going to do it today but the wind really picked up.

Best way to paint vintage bass drum hoop?

Yes, strips are BDP. I taped them off before I read your post about removing them. I saw the staples, but I felt like it was glued in. But might have just been really tightly stapled in. I like the idea of gluing it in. Cleaner to paint the whole hoop.

Best way to paint vintage bass drum hoop?

Ugh. Tried to spray paint it today and the spray cap came off. I tried popping it back on and it sprayed all over the place and would not stop! I had to run to the dumpster and throw it in. My hands were pitch black with paint (my fault for not wearing gloves) and now my hands are burning from...

Best way to paint vintage bass drum hoop?

I'd like to repaint this bass drum hoop, but am wondering what the best way would be. 1. Remove the stripe in the middle, sand then paint. or 2. Tape off one side, sand and paint. Then tape off other side and sand/paint.

Here she is all shined up. WAS stamped 1967 inside...until I dropped a dollup of polish right on it :( Lesson learned.

    Vintage Ludwig Info?

Got the snare apart. Saw there is some "kruft" where the batter head was (it was really stuck in there) and maybe some small pitting? Any ideas how to best clean this? Read a few posts on how, but also read that you don't want to rub off the stamp that says 1967 (so I'm guessing no soaking in...
