Thanks Fat Drummer!
Yeah, I know a few of the mics were old cardiod style and the tracks are pretty raw in terms of effects or samples. It was recorded in a concrecte back room of a house with the bass. players rig. (pro tools,. sm57s, beta 58, some other stuff). Appreciate the kind words!
This is an album I recorded last year. Click Here. Please Listen to "Chambers", "Trixx Centrum" or "Feel Death" if you want to hear some old Ludwigs and loud blaring noise. I would appreciate any comments and I hope someone out there enjoys it.
Here was my gear used :
I'm moving to Japan and need to sell my drums.
Here are the details:
The wrap is aged yellow, all shells have white painted interiors with reinforcement rings.
The bass drum originally had the rail mount, which was taken off and drilled for the modern center mount.

Thanks for the comment.
I couldn't raise this hi hat stand at all, which was annoying. But regardless, with the kind of song, I find when on the hats especially (as opposed to the ride), wrist/hinge use gives me more variation for sound.
Hi all, a band I was playing with made a video of a song we recorded. Let me know what you think. It's a short song.
the kit was a sonor maple select
cymbals were 14" blue label 602 extra heavy/heavy hats
404 22" ride
602 modern 20" thin crash
505 22" ride
snare is a staved maple snare I...
I can't imagine 404's blending with A's or A customs...I have 404 med. hats, 20" ride and 22" ride that I both use as crashes. They are all very dark, as opposed to the A brightness. It might work, but I wouldn't bet on it blending well.
I finally got to play the snare at rehearsal today and it kills. I tune it about medium, enough to crack but that's it. What a beast of a drum, don't want to change a thing about it. I have another maple snare that's 6.5x14 staved shell and it's bright as can be, I wanted an RK shell purely for...
thanks for the replies Drumstickdude and maxb2k. Right, my only real concern with this drum is the evenness of the snare beds. One end looks right, the other end is definitely off-center (the butt-plate end). All the same, after I tuned it up and put 30-strand puresound wires on, it's as...
