I don't think anyone has mentioned Tortoise yet.

    Gigs: Do the math

I live in a "music town" which really means there are more original bands, and more bands in general, so less money to go around. There are "known" local bands who tour, and some can make an actual living (more or less depending on how well-known). There are also trending bands, who may or may...

Are there any video's or sound files showing the sound difference between a 45 and 30 degree bearing

Is it okay to: 1. Maybe assume there's a difference in sustain/response with a different edge; 2. The feel of stick on/off the head may be different with a different edge / the player gets what they want from a certain drum maker back in the day?

    Tape residue removal

I'm sure you can get it off with one of these methods, but it may take effort as noted, and it may mess with the patina. I'd honestly try and sell as is, and leave it as "buyer's choice" so at least if the finish is uneven after cleaning it wouldn't impact the sale price. I'd hate to end up...

    Large crash cymbals

My definitive setup right now (and apart from a couple add-ons, likely settled for the foreseeable future) seems all confused at first glance. I've been rolling with these since around 2011, and the A since around 1998, but the big one's only been on the left for a couple years. 14" Dream Bliss...

    Unscrewing hi-hat top rod

I have to do this with my Ludwig 1124 stand. The brass fitting at the joint is actually hex sided like a but which helps. I've also considered loc-tite at the bottom, just haven't gotten around to it.

Vintage 18" 50s A Zildjian cymbal crash ride

One last bump for next week, played it on a couple of gigs this month... maybe the cracks dry it out a lil bit as a crash but it's solid and awesome! If no interest, I'll keep it. Thanks DFO for the opportunity to advertise!

The Death of the Electric Guitar

Where I live, it's an indie rock town and a guitar town, with literally a thousand bands at any given time. Not many have money though (unless they want to get a cc to buy a decent instrument). Lots of used b/s/t going on in general, and still mostly under $500, or even $300. And this is mostly...

Vintage 18" 50s A Zildjian cymbal crash ride

Bump for a local Athens/Atlanta opportunity! I can't go crazy low like $50 but make an offer if you're nearby and let's see how it goes. I think a jazz player would never ever have problems with the little cracks. I used it as a crash in a funky americana band with no issue.
