    Here is a second Chinese Tom from the 20’s that was painted gold. I was able to get back most of the picture on the skin from behind the paint. Then painted the shell in usual red color. I think it’s much better now. Wayne Finished shot Before shot

    Thanks rikkrebs, it actually came with a whole trap kit and I have another Chinese tom which they also painted with this strong gold paint so restoring that also. It is a cool 1928-29 kit, I was hoping that the gold paint would come off easy and leave original paint behind but no such luck. It...

    Yes agree with above. The bass drum is toast wrap wise but the head is cool. The snare is a Leedy I believe and looks to be in much nicer shape and worth restoring. Wayne
