Have a bunch of gear to sell, just can't be bothered anymore.

I hear you. I currently have eight kits, which is really about three kits more than I have room to store. I'm thinking of consigning at least two kits. The rest are harder to part with. I used to flip like crazy, I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

    Kelly SHU microphone mount

I've been using a Kelly SHU mount in my bass drum for years with great success. Recently they came out with a mounting method to install the Kelly SHU in floor toms and run the wiring though the vent. I ordered my new Gretsch USA Custom kit with this in mind, I had Gretsch install a second...

    Sugar Percussion

I got to try a Sugar snare drum at Sweetwater a couple of years ago, it sounded amazing. I've yet to buy one, but they are definitely on my radar.

    Gretsch "The One" snare videos

I didn't see these videos until a month or two ago, but I became Gretsch snare drum fan some time ago. I got my first COB 4160 in 1991. It was my primary snare drum until 2008. Todays I have an embarrassing bounty of snare drums at my disposal. I love and use Ludwig metal snare drums, most of...

    Upgrading my snare

I agree 100% with this. A few months ago I bought a 2003 DW/Craviotto Curly maple single ply snare drum for $650. Currently there are a few Slingerland single ply Radio king snare drums on eBay in that price range. Guitar Center has a Nobel & Cooley on their used gear site for $550. You can get...

I'm going to gig my new Gretsch kit tonight for the first time.

This past January I ordered a set of Gretsch USA Customs, they came in a couple of weeks ago. I set them up outside, and have them dialed in. Tonight I will be gigging them for the first time. I'll report later. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos of the kit.

    Aux. Percussion...

Others have covered this well. Hand percussion "toys" are very subjective, what works for me in my situation may not work for you. Latin Percussion, Meinl, Rhythm Tech, Gon Bops, Tycoon, and Pearl all make good pieces. From 2010 to 2013 I worked a lot more as a hand percussionist than I did as a...

DW Super Solid Maple Super-Sonic Snare Drum

I have a Rogers COB Dynasonic, it's great drum. I also have a few solid maple shelled drums, a couple of Radio Kings from different eras, a Noble & Cooley, a Gretsch Stanton Moore Signature, a DW/Craviotto, a DW Super Solid. At this point I have more single ply maple drums than I do maple ply...
