Bass drum tuning projection reso side

Thanks,, I like all kinds of sounds but tend to tune to what the situation requires,,, For instance tonight's gig (pop/rock covers) was pretty loud so i need a fairly controlled generic punchy sound (5" port) ,, On this gig I also dig in quite a bit with the beater so tune on the lower side and...

Bass drum tuning projection reso side

On my 20x14 i usually tune both heads fairly low but recently been playing around with the reso side, pitching it up between 1 to 3 semi-tones higher than the batter. First off the drum feels different with the reso pitched up, plays ligher and faster but I've noticed at least from the players...

How Do I Get Rid of a Brilliant Finish?

And in reverse going from raw to polished,,, So i have this Bosphorus turk 20" ride cymbal for years that is really nice but always felt it too dry, i even toyed with the idea of having a cymbal-smith lathe one side but figured it would be cost too much with shipping etc I tried Matts...

Fleece or foam line snare case ?

Have a humes & Berg Enduro hard case lying round and haven't really used it much, but i got a new snare that needs a new home,,, the 14" snare moves around quite a bit in this 14" case. Considering lining it with foam or just going old skool and wrapping the snare in a fleece/blanket first...

    Worldmax 14x6.5 aluminium snare

Decided to try switching over the throw from my Inde Maple to see how it looks and feels on the WM, all nice and straight now. The WM strainer does work and is functional but the Inde brings the quality level up a few notches higher. The WM butt is die cast and looks like its built to last.
